How to disable Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry (CompatTelRunner.exe) in Windows 10?

Step 1. Open Command Prompt as administrator. To do that press Windows Key + X, select Command Prompt (Admin).
Step 2. In the Command Prompt, type the following keys successively and tap Enter after each command:

  • sc delete DiagTrack
  • sc delete dmwappushservice
  • echo “” > C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Diagnosis\ETLLogs\AutoLogger\AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener.etl
  • reg add “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DataCollection” /v AllowTelemetry /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

Step 3. Lastly, restart your computer.
