A face with the mouth wide open, which is generally used to represent an element of surprise.

Can also be used for “mock shock”, as it is less specific than the fearful face used for genuine shock.

Face With Open Mouth was approved as part of Unicode 6.1 in 2012 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
